If you are an outdoors enthusiast, nature lover or animal lover, we have the North Georgia Wedding venue for you! We are very proud to represent Mr. Zane Whelchel in planning North Georgia Weddings and special events at his Deerfield Ranch/Swan Lake venue conveniently located between Dahlonega and Dawsonville just off of Georgia Highway 400.
Deerfield Ranch is a 200+ acre estate and private wildlife preserve that is the home of herds of Sika Deer, Fallow Deer, Alpacas, Belgian Horses, Ducks, Swans, and other wildlife. The Dawsonville property which has been in Mr. Whelchel's family for four generations (since 1868) is a testament to hard work and great planning.
A bridal suite is available at Mr. Whelchel's private 16,000 sq. ft. Manor. Elegant murals and elaborate woodwork highlight a collection of artifacts that has taken Mr. Whelchel a lifetime to accumulate. While visiting, be sure to sit a spell on the front veranda with Zane and hear about his fascinating life and global travels!
Deerfield Ranch/Swan Lake is one of the few North Georgia Wedding sites where you can do-it-yourself. We allow outside catering and outside wedding planners. It is the perfect venue for brides who are on a tight budget.
We charge a facility fee of $1500 which covers your use of the property for an eight hour period of time on your wedding day in addition to one hour for rehearsal (usually the day before your wedding, based upon availability).
